How to find the castle and the horse center

By plane
Stockholm Arlanda
The Sparreholm Castle & Horse Center is located 100 kilometres west-south west from Stockholm Arlanda, about 1,5 hours by car.
Skavsta Nyköping
The Sparreholm Castle & Horse Center is located 45 kilometres from Skavsta airport outside Nyköping, about 40 minutes by car.
By train & taxi
The nearest train station is Flen, about 15 kilometres from Sparreholm. It has fairly regular arrivals and departures most days and hours.
A taxi for up to four passangers costs about 400 SEK from Flen train station to Sparreholm Castle.

NOTE! If you are going to castles and museums: Rather enter Hyltinge church on Google maps and then drive down through the castle hall. The GPS can otherwise show you wrong, over an old railway bank at the factory.

From Stockholm
Follow the E4 south. Take exit 141 in Järna and road 57 towards Katrineholm. Follow road 57 about 50 km to Sparreholm.
At the roundabout where road 57 meets road 53, turn right towards Eskilstuna and Malmköping.
Two kilometers outside Sparreholm, the horse center is on the left, signposted Björkhult.
Another 100 meters further on on road 53 is the exit to Sparreholm Castle on the right.

From Uppsala / Strängnäs
Take exit 137 from the E20 in Strängnäs and follow road 55 towards Norrköping and Malmköping. At two roundabouts outside Malmköping, follow signs for road 53 towards Nyköping.
After about eight kilometers, a sign with Sparreholm's castle is on the left.
The horse center is located on the right side of the road, with the Björkhult entrance about 200 meters further on on road 53.

From Gothenburg
Take exit 107 from E20 and follow road 52 from Kumla to Katrineholm. From Katrineholm, follow road 55/57 to Flen and continue from there on road 57 towards Gnesta and Södertälje. Drive about 16 kilometers to Sparreholm.
At the roundabout in Sparreholm, turn left towards Malmköping and Eskilstuna.
Two kilometers outside Sparreholm, the horse center is on the left, signposted Björkhult.
Another 100 meters further on on road 53 is the exit to Sparreholm Castle on the right.

From Norrköping / Nyköping
Take exit 133 from the E4 in Nyköping. Follow road 53 towards Eskilstuna for about 50 km to Sparreholm.
At the roundabout in Sparreholm, continue straight ahead on road 53 towards Malmköping and Eskilstuna.
Two kilometers outside Sparreholm, the horse center is on the left, signposted Björkhult.
Another 100 meters further on on road 53 is the exit to Sparreholm Castle on the right.

NOTE! Most navigation systems lead motorists over Hyltinge, past Ramsberg, when coming from Gnesta on road 57. This road is very scenic, but as it is a gravel road with steep up and down slopes, it is NOT suitable for winter road conditions or if you drive a larger road. carriage, as a horse-drawn carriage.
If the navigation system recommends this road even though it does not feel optimal, then follow road 57 to the roundabout in Sparreholm, turn right and follow road 53 towards Malmköping / Eskilstuna.
